 Do you know about Hiroshima?

Do you know about Hiroshima?

August 6, 1945, 8:15 a.m. Hiroshima.

The first time in history
an atomic bomb was dropped
onto the lives of ordinary citizens.

The city, reduced to a hellscape.
The people, transformed into figures
unbearably painful to look at.
Witnessed by eyes of young children
who miraculously survived.

More than 75 years have passed.
Those young children,
called hibakusha in Japanese,
are now elderly.

Their lives have forever changed since that day.
Suffering the aftereffects.
Enduring the guilt of having survived.
And yet, they continue to live,
placing their hope in the future.

Through an ardent desire
this project was started
to preserve the images of the hibakusha.
